U Zaw Zaw

Rector

U Zaw Zaw (Rector) of the Central Institute of Civil Service (Lower Myanmar) was born on 21st April 1964 in Pathein, Ayeyarwaddy Region by U Than Aung and Daw Khin Htar. After passing the matriculation examination in 1982, he attended a cadet course, 29th intake of Defence Services Academy (DSA). He graduated with the Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Defence Services Academy in 1988 and he served in various infantry units up to the second battalion Commander from1988 to 2006. He transferred to Ministry of Industry as a deputy manager from 2006 to 2011. Then, he served as Director, Deputy Director General, Pro Rector and Deputy Permanent Secretary at Civil Service Selection and Training Department, Civil Service Affairs Department, Central Institute of Civil Service (Upper Myanmar) under the Union Civil Service Board. From the date of 13th July 2015 to the date of 20th May 2020, he served as a Pro-Rector (Administration) at the Central Institute of Civil Service (Upper Myanmar). He has been working as a Rector of the Central Institute of Civil Service (Lower Myanmar) from the date of 21st May 2021 till now.

He attended Seminar on Executive Development  Model for ASEAN Civil Service (Thailand) (12-9-2011 to 14-9-2011), Human Resources Development within Public Sector and Civil Service Affairs (Thailand) (16-9-2012 to 20-9-2012), Country Fellowship (Seminar) Public Sector Development Program for Myanmar Senior Government Officials  (Republic of Korea) (30-6-2013 -14-7-2013), Study visit to Japan by Sasakawa Peace Foundation Program (24-8-2014 – 29-8-2014) Cooperation of Myanmar Climate Change (Vietnam) by UN Environment Program (3-7-2017- 7-7-2017) and also Workshop on Discovering Awareness, Knowledge and Skills and Leadership Forum (Japan)(6-12-2018 –      7-12- 2018) as foreign experiences.
